IQRF Ideas

Several standards has been defined for wireless. Their specifications look well on paper but there are a lot of problems to apply them in practice. Due to attempts for maximal complexity and performance these protocols are complicated, require high-tech hardware and application development is difficult, lengthy and expensive. Complex protocols also imply bloated communications and lowered data rates. This gap must be closed by high output RF power which results in higher noise, increased traffic and high power consumption… It leads to situation where despite of high costs it is hardly possible to achieve reasonable results even for much simpler applications than ones these standards has been designed for.

David and Goliath

James Tissot: David and Goliath

In 2004 an RF platform was established based on different views:

  • Light but well framed protocol is better than Moloch (like RISC is more powerful than CISC)
  • RF signal can not sometimes pass through an obstacle even if its output power is 100 W
  • Intelligency is more efficient than force
  • Colossus network protocol implemented to small or medium network is a steam-hammer to crack nuts
  • Well linked independent networks are more efficient than one giant network
  • Structured or hierarchical networking allows lower traffic and less power consumption
  • Effectivity is primarily implied by soft (IQ) issues: coding, timing, routing, coordination, …
  • The user should use these achievments but not invent them, program, debug, measure, …
